Adobe InDesign For Beginners – Tutorial Course Overview & Breakdown

Welcome to the complete beginners guide to Adobe Indesign CS5.

In this series I will be demonstrating how to create a small project in Adobe Indesign from start to finish. To help break down the process I have structured the course in 3 main sections:

Step 1 – Preparation

Step 2 – Implementation

Step 3 – Finalisation

Along the way we will be covering many topics, such as how to set up your document, understand how the program works, use text in Indesign, prepare and import images into indesign and finally export your document ready for print.

Hi, I hope this reaches you guys, I’m having a problem with trying to create an “X” symbol in an existing frame. The symbol “X” is an indication for “Do Not” or “Not Allowed.” I’m creating a branding guide if that helps gives a better visualization. I have X’s on there but they are just not flush or perfect fitting. Any help would seriously be appreciated since this project is due next Friday! Thanks

Why would you use ID if its just three pages???
Isn’t id for creating multipage documents that will be printed in editions?
Because this is way easier and less constricting in Ai

I’ve always wondered why there are more colours than just the CYMK like at the top right at 6:15. Now I know… Those extra colours are Spot Colours.

Thanks for the tutorial, very informative.  One step I think you left out of the final video is proofreading of the text.  There is a space before the 125R in the main headline, the third heading on page 2 is the same as the second heading i.e. copied and pasted but dates not changed, and the fuel capacity in the table has the gallons used in the left column and not as smaller text in the row above where it should be on the right so one extra line in the table… I think a lot of designers also make this mistake before sending files to clients or printers!

Ranjith Kumar Amburose says:

How do i work on tamil fonts ?
I have installed the fonts in my computer-parameters-appearence-fonts and also updated in C drive- programmes files – Adobe- AdobeIndesign CS6-Fonts… I have done all these… but still i am not able to view the fonts correctly… I have errors and spelling mistakes as compared to my original text. Kindly advice…
