You don’t need to outline the text for this. Just hold “alt” when you click intersect in the pathfinder window. That way you can stay non-destructive. Huzzah.

The rectangle where not perfectly centered because when you draw a default rectangle there’s a 1pt stroke around and in indesign when you inverse the color from the stroke and the filling it will fill the rectangle but only in the inside of the previous stroke and not replace it ! so when you do that the second rectangle will actually be smaller than the first one you drew!

I downloaded an image from Unsplash, got to the part when you go file; place; then make sure the replace selected item, and there was no replace selected item check box. there was a replace check box but it was not able to select that box. anyone know why?

Very nice and useful. Explained in a way that everybody can understand. Small tip: Cmd+Shift+< or > changes the size of a font down or up, respectively. And this is working in ID, PS, AI.
