Simple Cinemagraphs In Final Cut Pro X | (No Plugins Required!)

In this tutorial, I’ll be walking you through, step-by-step, on how to create simple cinemagraphs (aka moving pictures) using the latest version of final cut pro x (10.4) without having to download any plugins!

Cinemagraphs are essentially still images that consist of subtle motion/movements (e.g. water running through a stream). To me, they are living images with a never-ending moment. The juxtaposition of stillness and movements can be used to create a range of reaction in viewers.

Thank you so much for watching 🙂

Nice tutorial. Very clear. Repeating the technique on a separate clip simply locked the lesson in. Keeping it short helped with absorption. Thanks.

How do you do those effects where you draw? Like little squiggles lines or “popping pimple effect” or your pouring a cup of tea ? And you can outline a cup with it or outline a person and add a instagram tag? Like how @heyitsfeii edits? Or soemthing is moving but you make it kind of animated? And cute?

I’ve actually never written a comment but your tutorial was so great and informative, I just had to love. Great content!

Sabrina Alafita says:

Appreciated the tips and using two examples. I also appreciated both the short cuts, but also including the text for what I need to click.

It went a little too fast for me though. But I appreciate that a quicker run through makes a faster clip.

Good tutorials however the music is extremely distracting, loud and gives an anxiety feeling of having to rush through the video. Very uncomfortable to listen to.
