I think the main change is, that most of the mainstream rappers use ambient/dark beats with a lot of bells, plucks and pads. Earlier everybody used outstanding “aggressive” leads and heavy snare rolls. I like the change, but I also love to listen to the old stuff! 😉

“percussion study” yeah u basically said use a bongo in ur trap beats because metro boomin used one in a song

Alot of new producers learned to let their beats breathe & let even simple sounds like “ o hats , shakers , etc “ make a difference to the beat .
