This is exactly how I do hair cutouts. I also use the quickmask a lot too, to paint a selection and then apply those selections.

NO plugin ever works
Select and Mask tool isn’t great either.

Realise cutting out hair isn’t easy and requires a bit of effort to make it good and you are halfway there.

Jesus, thank you for that! That’s really helpful. Also, I saw some time ago that a guy stamped hair cloned from the models hair with an option “darken’ instead of brushing it in with a solid colour. That made it multicoloured and three-dimensional. Do you think it’s worth considering?
